Long story short, a family from my church back home immigrated to the U.S. from Gdansk so the mom, Gosia, has been setting me up with all sorts of interesting people and help finding apartments!
Friday, I had dinner with a young family that Gosia knows. The girl, Dominika is a few years older than me (25ish) and Adam a little older than that. Plus, they have the MOST ADORABLE baby girl.
If you know me, you know that I love children. It's even better when you're in a country that doesn't know your language because children everywhere respond to funny faces and kisses.
ROAD BUMP!
Animals make different noises in different countries.
Dominika and Adam told me that Rosalia loves dogs...but she kept saying "how" "how." And it took a while for me to realize that it was the sound dogs make in Poland!
We shared quite a few laughs as I started asking about different animal sounds. Many are similar, but some are incredibly different. I just about died laughing when they told me ducks say "fuck."
